It is extremely sad to hear that one of my old heroes has left us. Ken Hensley, an amazing organ/keyboardist, guitar player, vocalist, and songwriter played with one of my all time favorite bands, Uriah Heep, for many years.
I first heard of Uriah Heep when their first album came out in 1970, and was fortunate to see them in Copenhagen 5 or 6 times in the early and mid ‘70s. First time was 1972, when I was 16.
They played a big role in my growing up with heavy music, and have inspired a lot of what I am today.
Here is a great photo of Ken Hensley from the old days. Just how I remember seeing him on stage.
Rest in Peace, I know you will join the great band on the other side.

I just found out that I lost one of my dearest friends, who has been fighting cancer for a long time, in such an incredibly brave way.
He was not just my roommate on the early Mercyful Fate tours, but he was always my favorite bass player of all times.
I was fortunate to have been able to visit him at his apartment with some other good friends, and we had a great afternoon that will never be forgotten.
When I last talked to Timi on the phone on October 24th, I could understand that things had gotten tougher than they ever were, and yet he said “we fight on”.
I feel so so sad for his entire family, you have my absolute deepest sympathy.
Rest in Peace my dear dear friend.
